In the current technological age, technology has become a part of education in general as well as a component of learning languages. One of the methods that have received a lot of attention regarding language learning is Computer-Assisted Language Learning or CALL. CALL can be understood as the use of computers in learning a language.
CALL may take numerous forms, for example, language learning software programs, online quizzes, interactive online videos, pronunciation software programs, and learning management systems. This enables the student to practice language skills at any time and from any location, hence providing much more flexibility than the conventional system of teaching.
An important thing to consider is that CALL does not substitute the teacher. Rather, CALL assists the teacher in preparing even more interesting activities for learning. By using CALL, for instance, learners will have the ability to listen, speak, read, and write in a more interactional style. The teacher will be guiding this process.
